7 Biblical Signs We are Close to the End

Updated: Feb 15, 2022

With the LATENESS OF THE HOUR now in clear view, it’s quite exciting to see several of the very obvious End Times signs – given by Jesus, Daniel, Paul and others – coming to fruition…signs that, just a few weeks/months ago, had not yet been revealed; but all of which now serve to WARN both Believers and nonbelievers to the approaching Rapture, the Day of the Lord, the final 7 years of “tribulation”, and the imminent return of Jesus Christ.

Thus, here are SEVEN Biblical signs – all to be seen as urgent warnings – that we are almost out of time:

1. False Teachers/Rampant Untruth. In short, I don’t trust anyone anymore. Seriously…each morning, I read several global news sources; and quite frankly, I have no idea what’s true and what’s false anymore. I doubt anyone does.

No surprise, when asked by His disciples for visible signs of His future return, Jesus seems to echo my sentiments, when He mentions, first and foremost: FALSE TEACHING. (Matthew 24:3-4) Yes, even before Jesus talks of war or pestilence or earthquakes, our Lord says to first, watch out for deluding spirits: false prophets.

Need an example? Well…let me ask you…have your End Times teachers consistently taught you that the Church plays zero part in the End Times; and that the final 7 years of Tribulation – sans the Church – are 100% about Christ saving one-third of Israel (Zechariah 13:8-9) – via the Gospel of the Kingdom (Matthew 24:14)...after the Rapture? If not, then Congratulations...you’ve been mis-taught.

2. Global Unrest. When Christ describes the condition of the world – immediately before the commencement of the final SEVEN years – He uses the phrase: “Wars and rumors of war” (Matthew 24:6). This is a colloquialism, used in the early first century, meaning GLOBAL UNREST. In using this well-known idiom, Jesus was saying, 'Yes, there will be warfare between nations…but it’s much more than that'...as the End Times world will see an escalation in sorrow, fear, bitterness, and hatred toward fellow earth-dwellers…unrivaled in modern history.

3. Abraham Accord Peace Treaty. Back in the 60’s, my grandfather, Leland Parsons – an amazing Believer in the life-changing power of Jesus Christ; and a huge eschatology buff – explained to me that the MOST IMPORTANT End Times SIGN to look for – the one event that actually kicks-off the final 7 years – is when a powerful gentile king – adored by Israel – brokers, then strengthens, an unprecedented peace treaty between Israel and her Arab neighbors (Daniel 9:26-27)...a peace accord that does the unthinkable; it breaks God’s Abrahamic Covenant with Israel (Genesis 17), which prohibits such a treaty.

Knowing this, it's impossible to ignore the fact that Donald Trump – who has worked his entire life to accomplish such an unprecedented Middle East peace accord – successfully brokered a treaty of PEACE, PROTECTION AND PROSPERITY in September, 2020, when Israel and her Arab neighbors signed the ABRAHAM ACCORDS. Surprisingly, of all Trump’s accomplishments, this non-partisan peace pact is loved the world over – even by the Democrats – and is now slowly sweeping the globe (Revelation 6:2)…even as Trump has yet to return as POTUS.

4. Complete and Total Apostasy of the Church. After my Prodigal Son conversion in 2004 – after being absent from the church for 20 years – I was shocked and dismayed by what I saw of the post-modern evangelical Church. Even Now, 18 years later, I find there are very few churches that even mention the name of Jesus anymore, let alone preach the true Gospel that Jesus Alone Saves Through Faith Alone.

Yes, it’s bad; VERY bad…but not surprising, since Paul plainly stated, in 2 Thessalonians 2:3, that one of the two SIGNS to look for – that Christ is soon returning – is the complete falling away/apostasy of the Church. In fact, of all the signs of the End Times, this one might be the most obvious, as it’s pretty hard to obscure the truth that in one generation, the Church has now become almost completely Christ-less. (Revelation 3:14-22)

5. Man of Sin Revealed. The second SIGN mentioned by Paul, that the Day of the Lord is rapidly approaching – also found in 2 Thessalonians 2:3 – is the REVEALING of the Man of Sin; the future Antichrist/Beast. Unfortunately, I’ve found, a large % of Christians misinterpret this passage, as they’ve been mis-taught that the REVEALING of the Antichrist, and the METAMORPHOSIS of that person into the AC, are one and the same. They are not.

How do we know that? Think of it…God has a reason for everything he does, right? And in the case of the Antichrist – a person that’s mentioned more times in the Bible than anyone else (except, of course, for Jesus) – God spends a considerable time throughout the entire Bible warning us about this Son of Perdition, this future “Worthless Shepherd”, the most dangerous man to ever live. Why? For the simple reason that, when we clearly recognize him – as a great gentile king brokering a peace deal with Israel – we’ll know how close we are to the Rapture...and alert others.

To put it another way, God is NOT trying to hide the identity of this man from us. THAT IS A FALSE TEACHING which, not only makes no sense…but completely negates the entire reason the Bible mentions so many signs of his coming. On the contrary, God is desperately attempting to REVEAL the identity of this man to us. So, do you see him?

6. Mass Delusion. As a teacher of eschatology these past 12 years, I’m still dumbfounded by how little the Church knows about the End times, how little prophecy the pastors understand and are willing to teach, and how few Christians these days even care. This, in itself, is a complete fulfillment of Paul’s words in 2 Thessalonians 2:11 (in a chapter that goes into great depth to describe the Antichrist and the Rapture), when Paul says most of the world AND the Church will be “deluded” to the truth, and ultimately “believe the lie”.

Does this mean the deluded prophecy scoffers will miss the Rapture? No, not necessarily. But it does mean these Biblically-challenged so-called Christians – foolishly scoffing at Biblical TRUTH…”just as in the days of Noah” (Matthew 24:37-38, 2 Peter 3) – will be ineffective in warning their unsaved friends and family of the horrors of the End Times, leaving those poor souls to fend for themselves in the Tribulation, with no knowledge of how to be Saved. https://www.mycornerofeternity.com/post/how-to-be-saved-after-the-rapture

7. Mass Revival. Currently, is there a global revival in the physical churches? No; absolutely not…for the simple reason the current postmodern Church age is so apostate – so thoroughly saturated with demons – that they are woefully unable to even preach the Gospel, let alone be a conduit for the Holy Spirit.

Fortunately, though, the revival we have all prayed for IS, in fact, miraculously happening throughout the world – not in physical churches – but via the web…as truth-seekers are finally turning away from fake pastors and teachers, and finding Spiritual truth on the internet.

So, what is the catalyst for this radical change? For the first time, the TRUTH of the End Times is being heard by millions, as they watch a world in free fall; then begin to recognize the obvious signs that Jesus is about to return. Remember, 70% of the apostate postmodern Church – including the Vatican – deny eschatology, deny a Rapture, deny obvious End Times prophecy, and are absolutely clueless to Christ’s ultimate plan of Salvation for Israel. (Zechariah 13:8-9)

My suggestion? Run from these apostates and find truth in the Word. Then, go tell others…that Jesus is coming. Soon.

Another excellent article, Michael. Consider, if you will, just consider, that much of our understanding about the end times is a misunderstanding. The book of Daniel makes quite clear that book will not be understood until the "time of the end." Note, Dan. 8:17 "...Son of man, understand that the vision pertains to the time of the end." and, Dan. 12:4 "But as for you, Daniel, conceal these words and seal up the book until the end of time..." and Dan. 12:9 "...Go your way, Daniel, for these words are concealed and sealed up until the end time." Now, many writers have excused these clear words by saying we are now in the end time, and therefore the bo…
